Curing Yeast Infections with Natural Remedies

December 10, 2010

Hi Tan Yook Boi,

Today we are going to explore the possibility of shying away from conventional medication and turning to natural remedies instead. In fact, you will be surprised to know that a lot of the ingredients you will need can already be found in your pantry!

Before we begin, just a reminder. I am not a trained medical doctor. My advice is to help you make smart, informed decisions on treatment choices, not substitute the advice of a medically trained doctor. Always talk to a doctor or trained naturopath if you have any doubts at all. And ALWAYS test for allergic reactions to the remedies you will learn about.

The first we will talk about is something you most probably know about already. It's the usage of yogurt! In fact, it is so commonly used for home remedying of yeast infections that your doctor would most probably suggest this to you as well! Just make sure you use the unsweetened  and plain variety with live cultures, otherwise you're just adding fuel to the fire for the yeast to feed on the sugars.

What a lot of people do NOT know, is that you can use yogurt in more than one way, in fact there are 6 of them. If you want to find out more RIGHT NOW, follow the link and get Leigh Hunter's book immediately. It is choked full of so much useful information you will never regret your decision to get it.

Most people enjoy the use of garlic in their cooking, but few people are aware of the amazing curative powers of this little herb. Not only does it lower blood pressure, it's also a natural antibiotic as well as fights off bad cholesterol.

Garlic can be used to fight off the infections, but something else that you might have in your pantry that is also helpful in the yeast infection battle is CINNAMON! Cinnamon, whether in oil or bark form, is an herb that is very powerful against fungus and bacteria, just make sure you don't use it if you are pregnant!

Tea Tree oil, though not scientifically proven to help, has found its way into the hearts of many a fan. It boils down to whether or not you think it works for you. But be very careful to remember that Tea Tree oil is NEVER meant to be taken orally, only applied topically, and even then, might cause irritation to sensitive skin.

Even though we would not recommend douches for cleaning your genital area, they do have a place in treating yeast infections. A safe recipe and application can greatly help restore your system's balance.

A herbal bolus is another old fashioned cure for yeast infection. Though they are a lot more troublesome to make and possibly apply, many women have found the trouble to be worth it. In her book, Leigh Hunter explains in great detail on how to MAKE and APPLY a herbal bolus.

In her book, she also covers:

·        6 ways to use yogurt to help fight yeast infection

·        5 ways of using garlic as a cure

·        4 ways of using cinnamon, and when to use it in powder or bark form

·        8 different recipes for different type of natural douches PLUS 4 more herbal douches recipes

·        PLUS many more different natural remedies, including Aloe Vera, Slippery Elm, even making your own Herbal Talcum Powder!
