Causes of Yeast Infections

Causes of yeast infections are many and before you know them, it is good to first have a clear understanding of what yeast infection is. Yeast infections are caused by a fungus called candida albicans which is a one celled organism that is naturally present in the body. There are factors that lead to their overgrowth and they are the causes of yeast infections. The infections affects men, women and even children who have the right factors necessary for a yeast infection overgrowth. Some of the common parts to be affected by yeast infection are vagina, gut, penis, mouth and the list goes on. It is known that virtually every part of the body can be affected by yeast infection. In women, the most common is vaginal candidiasis which is yeast infection of the vagina.

Some of the causes of yeast infections in the vagina are the use of antibiotics. They are drugs that are prescribed for a bacterial infection and they end up killing the good bacteria in the vagina that control the population of yeast. When this bacteria are eliminated, there is bound to be an increase in the population of yeast. Other common causes of yeast infections are hormonal imbalances which are brought about by several factors in a woman. The first thing is the use of birth control pills. Since they alter the normal functions of the hormones, they are known to cause the infection. Some people do not have a problem despite using the pills while others suffer with their first dose. This is not uncommon because people have different systems and reactions.

It is therefore very advisable to look for another birth control method which will be effective and safe. There are very many options and, you should not have a problem finding a suitable method. The other factors that count as causes of yeast infection are pregnancy, menstruation, menopause and hormone replacement therapy. There is nothing much you can do during pregnancy other than to treat the symptoms effectively. If you have another infection, find other more effective ways to treat the infection. You should however be very cautious because some oral yeast infection treatments like diflucan, might harm the baby. Go for creams and ointments to treat the infection.

Other causes of yeast infections are the use of female products that are scented and harsh, the wearing of very tight clothing which provide a warm environment for yeast to thrive, the use of certain condoms which have a substance called nonoxynol 9 which is associated with yeast, chronic diseases like diabetes and AIDS, stress and the list goes on. With all these causes, we can certainly take more precaution to evade the yeast infection. You should therefore take time to know the cause of your yeast infection then deal with it properly. Go to the doctor to have a confirmation of the disease and let him prescribe the best remedy for you. Take advantage of the many treatment options available and have the condition cured.

Home Remedies For Yeast Infections

Home remedies for yeast infection are very popular and this is mainly because they play a major role in ensuring that the infection is cured. Firstly, you must know how a yeast infection occurs. A yeast infection is a condition that is caused by the one celled fungus called candida albicans or monilia. It is found in the body naturally and it is only when there is an overgrowth that the yeast causes the infection. Women will mostly suffer from vaginal candidiasis while men will mostly suffer from penile yeast infections. The most popular home remedies for yeast infections are for women and this is mainly because they cure vaginal yeast infections.

In women, virginal infection is caused by several factors which include hormonal imbalances which are as a result of pregnancy, birth control pills, menopause and others. The yeast infection is also caused by antibiotics which kill the good bacteria alongside the harmful ones. If you have a chronic disease like diabetes or AIDS you are more likely to suffer from yeast infections. This is because you have a lower immunity which is also another cause of the infection. When you suspect to have a yeast infection, you need home remedies for yeast infection. But, before you search for a cure, you need to have observed the signs that will give you a hint whether you have the infection or not. In woman, vaginal candidiasis will present itself with several signs and they include the following.

There will be severe itching in and around the vagina, there will also be a whitish discharge which resembles cottage cheese. There will also be episodes of pain during sexual intercourse and while urinating. Before you find home remedies for yeast infection, you need to be certain of the condition you have. Therefore it will be wise to go to a health professional before you self medicate. The check up will also give you the opportunity to have other conditions ruled out. Some of the conditions could be bacterial infections. Men will also have signs of yeast infection when the penis is affected. Some of the things to look out for are chronic itching at the tip of the penis, whitish patches, soreness, pain during urination as well as pain during sexual intercourse.

The man also needs to have other illnesses ruled out before they consider home remedies for yeast infection. Some other remedies include the application of yogurt on the affected area. Yogurt contains lactobacillus acidophilus which is a good bacteria that checks the population of yeast in the body. Other remedies that have anti fungal properties include garlic, tea tree oil, honey, vinegar and the list is endless. Gentian violet is an anti fungal agent that has been used for a very long time to cure yeast infections. Pregnant women should should have a doctor prescribe their treatments so that they can know which drugs are safe to use. One example of a harmful drug is diflucan. Make sure you follow through with every medication to eliminate the infection.

Simple Home Remedies For Yeast Infections

Yeast Infection is a infection that is caused by the evil fungus candida albicans. Many people around the world suffer from this but are unaware of all the simple home remedies for yeast infections. There are many simple remedies you can use at home to cure it instead of visiting a doctor or buying expensive medicine.

The first home remedy I ever tried was apple cider vinegar. This worked surprisingly well for the yeast infection I had on my hand. Simply wet the infected area with apple cider vinegar and the yeast infection will slowly die.

If you suffer from yeast infection in your vagina there are other home remedies for that those yeast infections. My favorite method here is to dip a tampon into a special solution made from Potassium Sorbate and water. I use about one pint of water and 15 grams of the Sorbate. This is one of the best home remedies for yeast infection if it is located in the vagina.

Another method that you can use no matter where you have the infection is the buttermilk method. This is a pretty slow procedure but it does work and kill the infection. Drink one glass of buttermilk each day. I drank it just before bed to let it work over night.

Garlic is in the top 3 home remedies for yeast infections. Garlic is really antifungal all will treat the bad yeast bacteria's like punch bags. Just use a garlic masher and put the mashed garlic on the infected skin. Beware to not use this method in the private areas or you will feel a worse pain than the yeast infection inflict.

My last method for this article is a warm salt bath. You can make it a small bath just to dip the affected part in or you could do like me and fill it up. I like a full hot bath with some added salt. I lie down and soak for half an hour or so. The salt will start to work on the yeast infection and this is a very comfortable way to get rid of your yeast infection.

Hope you have found these home remedies for yeast infections useful and maybe I will write some more methods soon. Good luck with curing your yeast infection and make sure you don't let it grow for too long.

The bad thing about most of these home remedies for yeast infections is that they are pretty messy and take a long time to cure the infection. There is however one way you can cure your yeast infection in less than 12 hours in a totally natural way. Have a look at Home Remedies for Yeast Infections for more simple ways to cure your yeast infection.

The internet is the leading source of information when it comes to yeast infection. Firstly, a yeast infection can affect virtually everybody and the reason for this is that we all have contents of yeast in our bodies and the reason why we have no infection is that the yeast in us has not overgrown to an unnatural level. There are many factors that cause yeast to overgrow and when you get to know the factors, you will have known what causes yeast infections.

The first known cause is the use of drugs like steroids and antibiotics. If you have to take antibiotics, make sure you see your doctor on the issue. Others get yeast infections because of using the antibiotic treatment for a very long time. Never use steroids if the doctor has not recommended them. They are very powerful drugs that have the ability to alter the normal functions of the body. Some women are often very surprised when they realize that pregnancy is what causes yeast infections. There is nothing much a pregnant woman can do to reverse the cause but, she is advised to take the right medication and to cure the condition before delivery.

The topic on what causes yeast infections is very long because factors like stress also cause yeast infections. Certain condom lubricants also cause the yeast infection and this is mainly because they contain a substance called nonoxynl 9. Other causes are tight clothing which provide warm and conducive environment for yeast to thrive. Treatment For Yeast Infections - Banish Yeast Infections For Ever

Many of us are familiar with the uncomfortable itching and burning feeling of a yeast infection; that itch that will not go away is recognizable from its earliest stages. There are many treatments available for yeast infections so it may be difficult to choose one that works best for your body. Since it is an infection, many of the natural treatments work better than store bought creams and medications. When a yeast infection begins, it is important to get treatment as soon as possible, as the infection could get worse.

Typically, a doctor will prescribe anti-fungal medication as treatment for a yeast infection. These medications can come either as a cream or a tablet, but tablets are generally preferred, especially with vaginal yeast infections, as creams can get messy. Many of these medications can have side effects so natural treatments for yeast infections are more often used.

If you chose to use a natural treatment, you must make sure what you are doing is actually helping the infection and not feeding the yeast. Plain yogurt is one of the best treatments for yeast infections because it replaces good bacteria into the body. It is crucial to curing a yeast infection to avoid yogurt with sugar in it, as this will feed the infection. Also avoid foods with sugar if the yeast infection is around the mouth.

Another natural treatment for yeast infections is apple cider vinegar. You will not want to put this mixture directly on the skin because it may burn, however, you can soothe the infection by adding just a cup into a warm bath. It is important not to use white vinegar or any substitutions, as the infection could get worse. With any home remedies that are used to treat the infection, it may be best to check with a doctor to see if they are safe.

During the actual treatment, there are a few things you should do to help with the infection. Especially for women, do not sit in a wet bathing suit for a long period of time. Yeast is a type of bacteria that likes to grow in warm, moist places; a wet bathing suit creates the ideal environment. For both men and women suffering from these infections, you will want to wear loose fitting clothing to allow the crotch area to breathe.

When left untreated, yeast infections can become huge problems. Remember, it is a myth that only women can have them, many men also contract the infection due to a sexual partner being infected. Although yeast infections can be caused by many things, too many antibiotics or the use of birth control, it will always need to be treated. Not many of us can live with that uncomfortable itching feeling, so whatever treatment you are using, whether it is from a doctor or one of your own home remedies, make sure it stops the infection as soon as possible.

Why Not Treat Yeast Infections Naturally? - Your Body Will Love You For It!

Yeast infection (often called candida, yeast overgrowth or thrush) occurs in over 75% of the population at least once in their lifetime. In addition, many people, (predominantly women,) fall victim to recurrent candida overgrowth. Finding an effective and permanent way to treat yeast infection means a return to a normal, active life, free of painful symptoms and embarrassment.

Having said that, finding an effective way to treat yeast infection can be very difficult indeed. Often, when yeast infection first occurs, the initial treatment involves the use of anti-fungal drugs and creams. Whilst these may relieve the symptoms in a few days this is not a long term method to treat yeast infection. This is because the drugs can become toxic or cause side effects. In addition, anti-fungal drugs can actually cause the infecting organism to become resistant to them, making it more difficult to treat yeast infection with each subsequent outbreak.

Natural therapies however, cause no such problems when they are used to treat yeast infection. In fact, if a natural yeast cure that has been developed by a qualified natural health practitioner is used properly, it is usual for the discomfort of yeast infection symptoms to disappear within 12 hours of the start of treatment.

Furthermore, when a natural therapy is used to treat yeast infection there is a very high success rate in bringing about a definite cure for the condition, permanently preventing the yeast infection from recurring.

To illustrate this point, consider the following list of ingredients - yogurt, garlic, vinegar, tea tree oil (to name but a few!). All of these readily available, relatively inexpensive and extremely effective ingredients can bring soothing relief to the often painful burn and itch of severe yeast overgrowth. Under the guidance of a natural yeast cure, simple ingredients such as these can be used in natural therapies to treat yeast infection and relieve symptoms quickly.

In addition, a natural yeast cure that has been developed by an accredited natural therapist will look at the possible causes of the outbreak in order to prevent the yeast infection happening again. Issues such as diet, regular medications, stress levels, allergies and even clothing will all be examined when you treat yeast infection naturally. Such inquiries aim to discover if there is a common cause for the yeast problem. Often, simple lifestyle changes are all that is needed to stop yeast infection from returning.

Obviously, as the notes above show, there are a lot of positive points to be gained when you make the decision to treat yeast infection naturally. Just one note of caution though before you take that final step and download a natural yeast cure. Take the time to check what the natural therapy offers.

The best yeast cures online today not only offer printable resources, they offer counseling and support and usually have a members only website where you can obtain any extra information you may need to naturally treat yeast infection. In addition, look for extra inclusions, such as bonus e-books on related natural health issues. And most importantly of all, make sure there is a money back guarantee. That way you can purchase the product with additional confidence.

Causes of Chronic Yeast Infections

If you suffer from chronic yeast infections you know just how miserable they can be. The burning, itching, pain and embarrassment can become overwhelming and it can be frustrating trying to cope from day to day. In order to begin learning how to treat them it is important to take a look at some of the causes of chronic yeast infections. By eliminating or uncovering the cause the treatment can become both easier and more effective.

You may be surprised to learn that one of the most common causes of chronic yeast infections is using over the counter yeast infection creams and treatments. Part of the problem with OTC creams is that they often times don't kill all of the yeast that is present. Instead they kill the weaker yeast and leave behind the yeast that is resistant to treatment.

What happens then is that the more resistant yeast can multiply. What that means is that next time that you get a yeast infection the over the counter cream will be even less effective because there will be more of the resistant yeast than the first time around. This cycle can repeat over and over each time you treat a yeast infection with an over the counter cream. Before you know it all you have left is resistant yeast and the cream is ineffective in getting rid of it or treating your yeast infection.

Because yeast infections can be sexually transmitted having sex with an infected partner can also lead to chronic or recurring yeast infections. Both men and women can get them and often times men (and more rarely women) will have no symptoms but will have a yeast infection that they keep transmitting back to their partner without knowing each time they have sex.

Another very common cause of yeast infections is from extended use of antibiotics. Antibiotics kill both "good" and "bad" bacteria. The good bacteria in the human body helps to keep the yeast that occurs naturally in our bodies from growing out of control. When the bacteria is gone from using an antibiotic the yeast can grow out of control and cause a yeast infection. Other drugs such as birth control pills and cortisone drugs can also lead to yeast infections.

Douching too often, stress, hormonal changes, poor nutrition and sudden diet changes can also contribute to chronic yeast infections. Additionally, there are several medical conditions that can also cause chronic yeast infections including diabetes, a weakened immune system, pregnancy and others. It is always a good idea to rule out any underlying medical conditions with your doctor to make sure there is nothing more serious causing the infections.

Know What Causes Yeast Infections and Cure Yourself - Home Remedies For Yeast Infection

In most of the cases, the primary cause contributing to yeast infections in women is Candida albicans fungus that occurs naturally in small amounts in the vaginal area. If the amount of Candida albicans fungus increases beyond a certain limit, it causes a yeast infection which is also known as 'candidiasis'. It can be said that this infection gets developed due to rapid multiplication of naturally occurring Candida albicans fungus. But do you know - what causes yeast infections? This article is aimed to provide you the basic knowledge about these causes so that you could cure it by yourself.

Antibiotics are the most prominent cause of a yeast infection in women. Some antibiotics work as a catalyst for the development of yeast infections. It is believed that antibiotics suppress some natural mechanism that keeps the fungus development within limit.

Irregularities in the immune system also cause yeast infection. Sometimes your immune system doesn't work properly due to stress or prolonged illness. The disturbed immune system starts developing yeast infections. Changes in hormones, which normally occur at the end of menstruation cycle also cause a vaginal yeast infection. Using birth control pills for longer period, pregnancy may also cause this infections.

A yeast infection is not a sexually transmitted disease but sometimes this infection is transferred from male partner to female partner during sexual activities. High sugar level in the blood also accelerates the growth of yeast.

Use of scented hygiene products and douches too can cause a chemical imbalance in vaginal environment. The major changes in PH levels cause this. Items like pantyhose, tight jeans, undergarments made of synthetic fiber don't allow the vagina to breathe. The tightness of these clothes creates excess heat and moisture in vaginal area. You know that heat and moisture both help yeast to grow at enhanced rate.

Most of the above stated causes are very simple and can be easily eliminated. The best way is to analyze the current lifestyle and to make the necessary changes to promote less stressful and healthier habits. There are many ways to treat yeast infection by natural, home and regular medications. The selection and results of these remedies depend upon the intensity of the infection. If the yeast infection occurs frequently consult your doctor.

Ways For Treating Chronic Yeast Infections

There are several different types of yeast infections that one can actually suffer from but they all have different levels of severity. Those people who suffer from chronic yeast infections will discover that their problems will be reoccurring on a regular basis. As well as these infections affecting the skin, they can also affect the throat and mouth, the area surrounding the groin and the gastrointestinal tract. Plus young children who wear diapers on a regular basis are much more prone to suffering from this kind of infection in its chronic form around the area where the diaper is worn.

Experts have agreed that around 75% of all women will suffer from some form of yeast infection as some stage in their lives. But it is not only something that women are prone to suffering from, young children and also men can be affected by the condition as well. In men it generally affects the groin area and medical experts will refer to is a male yeast infection. Those who suffer from it within the groin area should abstain from any form of sexual contact whilst be treated for the infection. This is because it can easily be transmitted to another person and they will then need to undergo treatment as well. So you should seek medical attention if you feel you may be suffering from this type of infection. Also if at any time you or your partner suffer from chronic yeast infections you should abstain from sexual contact until treatment has been successfully completed.

If you find that the thrush (yeast infection) you have in your mouth and throat is reoccurring, then you doctor will prescribe some type of antifungal mouth rinse, lozenges or tablets for treating chronic yeast infections. It is also important that whilst treatment is ongoing that you purchase a new tooth brush, plus once treatment has been successfully completed you then purchase another new toothbrush. By doing this you will actually prevent the yeast infection from being introduced back into your mouth again.

Should you have a child who has developed chronic yeast infections of the mouth or throat they should be prescribed with some type of medication. Plus as mentioned above it is important that you replace their toothbrush both during and after treatment has been carried out. Also you it is crucial that you sterilize, wash with hot soapy water or replace those toys or items which they like to chew on or place in their mouths.
Along with chronic yeast infections of the groin, mouth and throat area a lot of people will find that they suffer from it on their skin. The most likely places you are to find it are under the arms, under or on your breasts or in skin folds as this provides the warm moist environment that yeast likes to grow in. When suffering from chronic yeast infections of the skin is that you make sure that you keep the area affected as dry as possible. Wearing loose fitting cotton clothing can help with this.

If you choose to wear tight fitting or materials made from synthetic products it will only cause you to sweat more and this will provide the ideal breeding ground (moist and warm) in which chronic yeast infections thrive. Should you happen to suffer from any chronic yeast infections around the skin folds then it may be worthwhile using a antifungal powder rather than cream. The powder is able to not only treat the condition, but also prevent the buildup of sweat in the area.

It does not matter what types of chronic yeast infections you are dealing with, there are plenty of medical studies which show that eating yogurt that contains active cultures, are extremely effective at helping to prevent yeast infections. Especially if they are eating on a daily basis. So if you haven't then why not start including one of the many active culture yogurts available into your diet each day.

Something else which is proving to be beneficial for people who suffer from chronic yeast infections is their intake of probiotics. These are live micro-organisms that are very similar to the active cultures we discussed above found in yogurt. They work by helping to regulate the levels of all micro-organisms in the body and this in turn can help to bring any types of chronic yeast infections under control.

If you find that you have chronic yeast infections in or on any parts of your body it is important to visit your doctor as soon as possible. They will be quickly able to evaluate the severity of yours and then prescribe the best course of treatment for it.

Why You Get Yeast Infections During Pregnancy

It is quite normal for everyone to have some level of yeast in their body systems. However there is an increased chance of women suffering from yeast infections when pregnant. The reason for this is because when a woman gets pregnant, there is an increased chance of the occurrence of an imbalance in yeast levels in the body. This in turn occurs because of the changes that take place in the woman's body.

In fact, it has been found that about 15% of pregnant women usually suffer from some form of yeast infection in their pregnancies. The changes that take place in a pregnant woman's body are mainly due to the increase in the level of estrogen hormone in the body. There are also other chemical and hormonal changes that take place in the woman's body during pregnancy.

Increased sugar in pregnant women's vaginal secretions triggers yeast infections

One important change that takes place in a pregnant woman is that pregnant women usually have more sugar in their vaginal secretions. This increased sugar provides the yeast in the body with more of substance for the yeast to feed on. This in turn leads to a cyclic imbalance in the vaginal area which once again leads to an increase of the fungus in the vagina. And all this is what starts a vaginal yeast infection in a pregnant woman.

However there is not much to worry about if you suffer from a yeast infection during pregnancy as this yeast infection does not in any way increase the risk of suffering from other pregnancy problems like pre-term labor, birth defects or low birth weight.

There is no difference in the symptoms of a yeast infection in a woman, whether pregnant or not. The usual symptoms of a yeast infection are painful urination, itching, burning, vaginal discharge and pain during intercourse.

However pregnant women have to be on guard, and consult a doctor when they notice any symptoms of yeast infections. This is because when a woman is pregnant, it is important that treatment for the yeast infection start immediately, for timely cure from the infection.

Yeast infections are harder to treat in pregnant women

This is because yeast infections in pregnancy are generally harder to treat, and cure than in any other instance in a woman's life. And if the infection is not treated in the beginning, there will not be much that the doctor can do as it is not that safe to take too many medications when pregnant as some medications have contraindications on the developing fetus.

The best treatment option for yeast infections when pregnant is the use of vaginal suppositories. There are some brands that are available as a single dose treatment, and are available over the counter. Sometimes oral prescriptions may be required to treat the yeast infection. However it is important that you take what the doctor prescribes, to ensure that it is safe for you and the baby, and has no side effects whatsoever.

8 Tips to Prevent Candida Overgrowth Symptoms and Eliminate Chronic Yeast Infections

There are hundreds of women about the world who experience chronic yeast infections. Though the symptoms aren't particularly deadly, they are just the same, a downer and depressing. Not all women get all the symptoms at equal severity, but the women who seem to in every which way have the majority of the symptoms are a victim of this insidious condition.

You may be puzzled as to what the difference is in frequent infections and a straight-up-and-down yeast vaginal infection. A straight-out infection is when the affliction is treated to one's advantage once you notice the symptoms. When it comes to chronic infections, the condition consistently "reoccur" after being treated. It should be noted that the symptoms can differ over time, this can really make a genital fungal infection challenging to treat.

What Causes Yeast Infections?

You might have been told this over and over again, the cure is in the prevention. So let's get into the causes of yeast infections. First of all, your body normally has candida yeast that's kept in balance by your friendly intestinal flora. Constant fungal infections materialize when this complicated balance is thrown off. This causes the yeast to grow and multiply rapidly, eventually spreading round the body. Antibiotics have been the main bad guy in throwing off this balance.

This is because antibiotics terminate ALL bacteria in your body, even the beneficial bacteria. This allows the yeast to have supremacy in the body. Another one of the causes of recurrent infections to allow for is a greatly acidic pH. An acidic body will inflame the yeast and cause it to overgrow. Elevated blood sugar levels can also inflame and/or feed the candida. Diabetics and folks who consume high amounts of sugary foods should really take note of this. High blood sugar will easily make one more open to having reoccurring infections because yeast feeds off of sugar.

Vaginal Yeast Infection Symptoms:

Now that we briefly went over what causes, let's now get into the symptoms. Some of the common symptoms are, irritation in or around the genital area, vaginal discharge(white and possibly thick in texture), weak burning sensation when urinating, redness or swelling on the skin, and ache during sexual intercourse. It's important to get a sense of the main signs of a yeast vaginal infection.

How to Cure a Yeast Infection:

Once you determine you have the infection, you should use the most adapted and safe never-failing treatment. Here are a list of things to avoid to assist with treatment.

1) Birth Control Pills- Birth control pills weaken the immune system, making you more prone to a genital yeast infection.

2) Taking antibiotics- Antibiotics kill the good bacteria that keeps yeast under control, and and it lowers the immune system.

3) Douching- Douching can upset the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina.

4) Feminine deodorants- These can be very irritating to anyone, especially those with a vaginal yeast infection.

5) Non-cotton underwear- Any underwear made of man-made fibers is not breathable, as cotton is. They trap moisture and heat creating a perfect environment for yeast overgrowth.

6) Tight fitting clothing- Tight clothing in the crotch area also creates a warm environment for yeast to grow.

7) A wet bathing suit- Sitting in a wet bathing suit for a prolonged period creates not only a warm environment, but a moist one, as well. Perfect for yeast growth!

8) Pantyhose- Tight, man-made fiber that also allows yeast to flourish and overgrow.

It has been attested that a natural vaginal yeast infection treatment is best when looking to beat reoccurring yeast infections. If you start using natural yeast infection treatments ASAP, you can prevent it from becoming a severe yeast infection and even more difficult to stop.

There are natural cures for yeast infections which can often be preferable to the expensive, messy, and often unnecessary creams and ointments that are typically used. A yeast infection is much more likely to impact women, although men are certainly not immune to the problem.

The more you understand about how a yeast infection develops and what the body is going through the easier it is to find the right home remedy for you. Yeast is naturally found in certain areas of the body. This is especially true of the genital area. The yeast coexists with bacteria that provides a system of checks and balances. When the yeast overpowers the bacteria, or the bacteria disappear from the area, a yeast infection erupts.

If the bacteria fails to provide protection from the infection you can usually find the source of the problem through certain activities. Taking medications like antibiotics, birth control, and steroidal based drugs that harmony between the bacteria and yeast becomes interrupted. Then, the yeast takes over and creates an infection that is highly uncomfortable for the sufferer. Having frequent intercourse can be a causative factor as well, especially if there is a high yeast level for one partner.

Douches can wipe out the natural bacteria needed to keep the yeast in balance. Most physicians actually recommend that you don't use a douche but use a natural cleansing agent instead. Any kind of harsh cleansing agent should be kept away from the genitals for both men and women.

Sometimes all it takes is your own hormonal balance to go off track in order for you to develop the itching and burning sensation of the infection. Hormones can fluctuate in both men and women, and these fluctuations can be random or predictable. This is why natural remedies are so helpful. You can use them for treatment purposes or you can use them as a preventative measure.

If you use natural cures for yeast infections you'll be happy to find that you can use the same process to prevent more infections from showing up. It is not unusual for sufferers to have repeat infections throughout the years that they are considered of child bearing age.

Natural cures for yeast infections are excellent preventative measures and can be also be very simple to throw together at home. Since repetitive infections are not uncommon, you might find that prevention is really the key to staying healthy and balanced.

If you're suffering from a yeast infection all you need is a clove of garlic to help control the itch and the burn of the infection, water, and a little bit of natural vinegar. Dilute the vinegar with water and then allow the clove of garlic to bathe in the solution until you feel that the garlic has blended with the solution. Using a sterile cloth or swab, cleanse the area thoroughly in order to treat the infection. You can use the same water and vinegar solution without the garlic for routine cleanses and preventative measures.

Drink a couple of daily glasses of buttermilk and add yogurt to your diet. This is for treatment as well as for prevention. Many women have found that adding a tampon soaked in buttermilk to their treatment process helps speed up the relief. After soaking all you need to do is insert the tampon for about one hour and let the natural cultures wage war on the rampant yeast.

How To Get Rid Of Yeast Infections

What if curing a yeast infection permanently became so simple that all you had to do was visit your local grocery store or health food store?

If you would like to finally eliminate yeast infections from your life, feel more energetic and enjoy better health without using potentially dangerous prescription drugs, then this might be the most important information you'll ever read.

Have you ever tried to treat yourself in the past without success, ending up frustrated or intimidated?

Learn how to get rid of yeast infections using natural methods.

The truth is that prescription drugs don't get to the root of the problem. They just mask over your symptoms. They may help you to cope with your immediate symptoms, but they don't correct the long term cause of yeast infections.

Prescription drugs can have bothersome side effects like vaginal burning, stomach upset, loss of appetite, altered taste, diarrhea, nausea, headache or dizziness. There are women who experience allergic reactions to these drugs resulting in rashes, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing... and the list goes on.

Of course, not all women will experience these side effects and for some these drugs work quite well, but any time that someone introduces drugs into their body the risks are increased.

In fact, one of the drugs commonly prescribed for yeast infections - Butoconazole - was mentioned in a recent ABC News report. Of all drugs on the market, Butoconazole is among the top ten drugs reported to the FDA for causing adverse reactions.

Unfortunately, vaginal yeast infections are very common. About 75% of women have a yeast infection during their lives and almost half of women have two or more yeast infections.

It is very important to pay attention to your body and your diet to prevent yeast infections.

Here are some tips that can help prevent yeast infections:

Avoid douching with water as this causes an imbalance of the pH in the vagina.
Do not wear tight thongs and g-strings that leave no room to breath.
Avoid clothing that fits tightly at the crotch.

Avoid scented feminine hygiene products, harsh cleansers, perfumed soaps, deodorant tampons/sanitary pads.

Change out of your wet swimsuit as soon as possible after swimming.
Reduce your intake of foods which are rich with yeast such as breads, sourdough, bagels, cakes and beer.

The symptoms of yeast infections such as intense itching, redness, burning, vaginal discharge, painful urination and painful sexual intercourse, severely reduce your ability to enjoy life as you should.

The fact is that discovering how to get rid of the symptoms of a yeast infection is the easy part! It's how to stop them from recurring and to get rid of yeast infections for good that's the hard part.

Though it may seem hard to believe... The hidden, biochemical cause, the real reason for yeast infections has been discovered along with a drug-free cure that gives permanent relief to yeast infection sufferers.

Finally, there is a way to get rid of yeast infections for good.

You should never again let yeast infections interfere with your life.

Recurring Yeast Infections - You Can Cure Yourself

Whilst treating Candida also known as Candida Albicans, Yeast Infection, Candidiasis, Monila or Thrush, it is important to stop the risk of recurrent yeast infections through re-infection or cross infection. There are a number of simple measures you can put in placed to ensure this, whilst undertaking a natural yeast infection cure for the symptoms of Candida.

Your natural yeast infection cure will kill the Candida infection and support your immune system as you kill the Candida fungi. It is also important to stop recurring yeast infections caused by re-infection or cross infection of yourself or your loved ones, by improving one's hygiene.

Firstly in eliminating recurring yeast infections, one should also ensure that ones sexual partner and any children living with the effected person or any other person coming into daily close contact with the effected person such as a carer, is also included in the natural yeast infection cure treatment program. As the Candida fungi can easily be spread and reoccurring yeast overgrowth can continue through cross infections from a loved one or carer who has not also been treated.

Improving ones hygiene to stop recurring yeast infections is important in the overall treatment of the Candida fungi. One needs to thoroughly wash ones hands and scrub under the finger nails, after rising in the morning and after using the toilet. As Candida can be gotten under the finger nails whilst scratching during the night and inadvertently whilst cleaning oneself after using the toilet. After going to the toilet for a bowel movement one should always wipe from front to back, to ensure that no Candida fungi being excreted during a bowel movement is wiped towards the genital area were it can create further infections.

Women should always pat themselves dry after passing urine and not wipe, as wiping can move and lodge Candida into new locations of the genitalia creating further problems, such as vaginal thrush - vaginal yeast overgrowth, vaginitis and vulvovaginitis.

After going to the toilet the genital and anus area can be cleaned with a solution of tea tree oil and water. Personal wipes could have tea tree oil added to them and be kept in ones bag or next to the toilet. Tea tree oil is strong at full strength and should be diluted when using in the genital area.

Hands should always be washed before preparing and eating any food and after touching any pets or animals. Animals can also be carriers of the Candida fungi. When preparing food, avoid tasting with ones fingers or re-dipping a spoon or folk after tasting, as Candida infections can be transferred to the food on re-dipping. Use clean utensils for every taste, when preparing food. A diet should be prepared following the guidelines of a natural yeast infection cure program.

All surfaces which the effected person is in regular contact with, remote controls, key boards, their mouse, fridge doors, counter tops and tables' etcetera should be cleaned with an antifungal solution.

Underwear should be change daily, preferably morning and evening. Tight fitting clothes and synthetics should be avoided whilst undertaking your natural yeast overgrowth treatment. As they can create a warm moist environment, and under these conditions the Candida infection will multiply and grow, as warmth and moisture is the ideal growing environment for Candida.

Clothing and towels should be washed with the addition of borax to the washing water. Borax has known antifungal qualities. Clothes and towels should then be dried in direct sunlight for several hours as sunlight will kill the Candida fungi and is a home yeast infection cure for your laundry.

After using your toothbrush soak your tooth brush head in some water which has had a drop or two of tea tree oil added to it, to kill any Candida fungi cling to your tooth brush. Like wise dentures should be soaked overnight in a solution which has had a couple of drops of tea tree oil added. It has been shown that Candida clings to dentures, re-infecting the wearer, but also any partner. Women who have recurring vaginal thrush, vaginal infection, vaginitis or vulvovaginitis, or men who have recurring penile thrush, penile yeast infection, male thrush symptoms or male yeast infections, should ensure that their partner's dentures are soaked as above, prior to undertaking any oral sex, to reduce the risk of infection from the dentures. The Candida in the body will need to be killed through a Candida treatment program.

Another yeast overgrowth minimization remedy for women is that at the time of their menstruation, one should ensure that they change their pads or tampons frequently; as these products heat up with the bodies' natural temperature and with the added moisture from the period, creates the ideal growing environment for the Candida fungi.

Implementing these changes in your life, will be effective remedies against recurrent yeast infections, when undertaken with a holistic yeast infection treatment program that will kill the yeast infection from the inside out. External manifestations of Candida yeast infection, thrush (vaginal or oral), monila and tinea are all symptoms of an overgrowth of Candida in the intestines, these symptoms do not occur without an overgrowth present in the digestive system first. The above measures to stop recurring yeast infections are very simple and powerful and when coupled with a natural cure and treatment program for Candida, will see that you do not suffer from ongoing recurring yeast infections.

Yeast Infections That Last For Months

Yeast infections that last for months are often associated with an underlying medical condition. When a yeast infection lasts for months it usually means that the yeast and fungal overgrowth are affecting your entire system, not just your genital area.

One thing that is rarely taken into account on lasting yeast infections is the fact that yeast is significantly influenced by the vagina's natural monthly fluctuating acid base (PH balance). The pH balance changes with monthly hormonal rhythms. Most women with yeast infections that last for months notice that the symptoms manifest or worsen a few days prior to the onset of menstruation and often clear up or improve when the period ends. Just prior to menstruation and throughout the time of the menstrual flow, the vaginal pH balance becomes significantly more alkaline, allowing yeast colonies that have been in a dormant state to become active and produce symptoms.

Many women treating yeast infections with prescription and over the counter remedies assume that when the symptoms go away the infection is gone for good. Unfortunately, sometimes there is another onset of symptoms, perhaps as soon as the onset of the next period. The main reason for yeast infections that last for months is that dormant colonies of yeast were not eradicated by the perilous treatment.

A paste made of slippery elm and a little water can help relieve the symptoms associated with yeast infections that last for months. This can be applied as needed. Another way to relieve symptoms is to keep aloe vera juice in the refrigerator and apply it to your vulva on a cotton pad as needed.

Some women prefer herbal remedies to help keep their body's pH balance at a level that discourages yeast infections. Tea tree oil vaginal suppositories are used by many women. Besides being very soothing, the suppositories possess powerful anti-fungal activity that can help return the vaginal pH balance to a normal state.

Women with yeast infections that last for months should eat yogurt every day. Yogurt contains lactobacillus acidophilus, a bacterium that occurs naturally in the vagina. Acidophilus kills yeast by producing hydrogen peroxide. Some women apply yogurt directly to the affected area to kill the yeast infection. If you use yogurt on your genital area, make sure that you buy plain yogurt with no sugar added.

Try the following steps to help prevent yeast infections:

o Don't use douches.
o Avoid scented hygiene products like bubble bath, sprays, pads and tampons.
o Change tampons and pads often during your period.
o Don't wear tight underwear or clothes made of synthetic fibers.
o Wear cotton underwear and pantyhose with a cotton crotch.
o Change out of wet swimsuits and exercise clothes as soon as possible
o Take two acidophilus capsules every day.

Bear in mind that yeast infections that last for months could be the sign of something more serious, like diabetes or HIV. If you have infections that persist you should talk to your doctor about the treatments that are available. Nobody should have to live with yeast infections that last for months.

Yeast Infections, How Long Should They Last

Many women, especially women who are suffering from their first yeast infection ask, how long should a yeast infection last? The women who also ask this question fall into another category, and they're the women who are having trouble curing their yeast infection. Which category do you fall into? And would you like to know the answer?

Many women who are suffering from their first yeast infection want to know how long it will last because yeast infections are not very pleasant to have. The sooner that they're dealt with, the better off you are.

Then you have the women, who, having their first yeast infection, want to know how long the infection will last without applying any treatment. I'll tell you now, they all need treating, and that's as soon as possible.

The time frame of a yeast infection will be different for everyone. The cause of your yeast infection, and where you have your yeast infection will determine how long it will take to cure yourself.

If your yeast infection is a vaginal yeast infection that has been caused by stress then it will be cured within a few days. This type of yeast infection can easily be cured with a natural treatment such as a tampon dipped in live yogurt then inserted into your vagina. It will also help if your stress has gone.

A more severe yeast infection that has been caused by continual use of antibiotics will take a lot longer to cure. This type of yeast infection is usually recurrent in your vagina, and could possibly have infected your intestines. An intestinal yeast infection can take months to cure depending on how long you've had the infection, and how long you have been taking the antibiotics.

An intestinal yeast infection/candidiasis will need to be cured from the inside of your body, and requires a complete diet change, and the use of natural anti fungals and probiotics.

If you're suffering from your first yeast infection then the sooner you discover the cause the faster you will cure yourself. Nearly all women will go straight for a cure to ease their symptoms without even thinking about the cause. This can lead to poor health in the long term if your treatment doesn't cure the cause as well as your symptoms.

Yeast Infections: Ancient Microbes, Modern Plague

Yeast infections have been around since ancient times. Although ancient healers couldn't identify Candida as the organism most often responsible for yeast infections, they were able to successfully treat yeast infections using herbs with natural anti-fungal properties. Microscopic fungi like Candida have always thrived, but yeast infections in humans were rare until modern times when two major factors set the stage to make yeast overgrowth in America as common as apple pie:

1. Antibiotics - The overuse of antibiotics is a major cause of yeast infections and other forms of fungal overgrowth. Modern antibiotics don't discriminate between the pathogens they target and the beneficial microorganisms or probiotics that normally inhabit the gut in large numbers.

When the delicate balance of essential flora in the GI tract is disturbed, yeasts and other pathogens are quick to capitalize on the opportunity to multiply. Left to flourish untreated, candida can invade the intestinal walls, breaking them down until they begin to leak harmful bacteria and larger proteins into the blood stream. The resulting long term "leaky gut" toxicity and constant immune system burden can have devastating consequences to your health.

2. Refined Carbohydrates - Our high carb diet alters pH levels, lowers baseline immunity, and directly feeds the cycle of yeast infection in our bodies.

Types of Yeast Infection

There are more than 20 species of Candida, the most common being Candida Albicans. These fungi live on all surfaces of our bodies. Under certain conditions, they can become so numerous they cause infections, particularly in warm and moist areas. Examples of such infections are vaginal yeast infections, thrush (infection in the mouth), skin outbreaks and diaper rash, sinus and nail bed infections. Rarely, the infection may spread throughout the body. Most people do not survive systemic infections because of the massive amount of inflammation and toxicity produced.

Underlying Causes of Yeast Infection

Like antibiotics, corticosteroids also deplete the body of beneficial bacteria and undermine baseline immunity, encouraging the overgrowth of yeast. Birth control pills can also promote yeast infections.

A number of factors influence the body's ability to directly or indirectly control Candida overgrowth:

• Mineral Imbalance or Deficiency - Trace minerals like zinc and copper are essential to the body's ability to keep yeast under control.

• Stress impairs immune system function and depletes the body of essential minerals.

• Excessive Alkalinity favors yeast overgrowth. Adrenal exhaustion and thyroid insufficiency contribute to increased alkalinity.

• Heavy Metal Toxicity - Candida sufferers often have high levels of mercury, lead or cadmium in their tissues. Hair analysis can be helpful in identifying toxicities.

• Inadequate Cellular Energy Production - Biochemical energy is required for all body functions, including immune system function, and all other body systems.

• Impaired Short-chain fatty Acid Metabolism - Short-chain fatty acids are protective compounds that are manufactured as a byproduct of normal metabolism. Caprylic and butyric acid are frequently used as anti-fungal agents. Hair analysis and Organic Acid Testing can be helpful in identifying deficiencies.

• Thyroid Suppression is both a cause and a symptom of yeast infection because of its role in impaired immunity and energy production. Candida overgrowth in turn causes a buildup of mycotoxins that suppress thyroid function.

Symptoms of Yeast Infection

Symptoms of candidiasis can vary widely depending upon where the infection takes hold, from vaginal itching, burning and discharge to allergies and skin disorders to brain fog, thyroid and immune suppression, sugar cravings and chronic fatigue.

Some natural practitioners estimate that because of the factors mentioned above, 70-80% of Americans are dealing with some form of fungal overgrowth. Don Dennis, MD, Board Certified EENT and plastic surgeon in Atlanta claims that fungal infection accounts for the suffering of a vast majority of chronic sinusitis patients.

According to Dr. Dennis, "Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) affects over 37 million Americans, making it more common than arthritis or high blood pressure."

Most CRS patients, like virtually all sufferers of chronic fungal infection, are caught up in an endless and seemingly hopeless cycle of infection and secondary reinfection with repeated antibiotic and steroid exposures that lead to its familiar pattern of symptoms.

Cancer Connection

Many practitioners are convinced that yeast overgrowth plays a central role in the growth of many cancers because of the toxic burden and oxidative stress it places on the body... not to mention the estrogenic effect of mycotoxins, the pirating of valuable cellular resources or the consequences of an overwhelmed immune system. Having a chronic yeast infection is like trying to row a boat with the anchor out!

Morgellons Connection

Similarly, fungal overgrowth appears to be a common factor among sufferers of Morgellons Disease, a horrific and increasingly common condition that involves immune compromise and failure of the bioterrain with multiple infections and infestations with plant and soil based pathogens that don't normally affect humans.

The greatest danger of chronic yeast infection may be that it sets the table for secondary opportunistic infections.

Treatment of Yeast Infections

Mild cases of yeast infection are easily treated, but successful treatment of chronic candidiasis requires time, patience, determination and a multifaceted approach.

There are five critical areas of intervention that are required to root out entrenched yeast infection in the body:

1. Diet - Anyone who has endured marathon struggles with candida overgrowth can attest to the difficulty of displacing established fungal infections, especially when underlying challenges such as heavy metal toxicity provide favorable conditions even when stringent dietary restrictions are followed. But the fact is, without a proper diet, there is virtually no hope of breaking out of the cycle of infection and reinfection. Basically, we need to eat what God has provided... a diet of veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains, while limiting meat and dairy and avoiding anything processed... especially refined carbs.

2. Restore Digestion - Probiotics and Digestive Enzymes are necessary to restore adequate numbers of beneficial bacteria to the GI tract and improve digestive efficiency. Enzymes also help control yeast directly and perform a "house cleaning" function in the body. Hydrochloric acid (Betaine HCL) can also be helpful in restoring pH levels and improving protein and mineral absorption.

A broad spectum, high potency probiotic is very effective in restoring balance to essential flora in the gut. Don't fall for the sales hype about enteric coated delivery systems. God doesn't package our probiotics in tiny plastic bubbles; neither should we.

3. Anti-fungals - Prescription anti-fungal creams and suppositories can be very effective for topical or vaginal use. Systemic drugs are also available, but they can be very hard on the liver and kidneys. Natural practitioners prefer to use herbs and nutrients that are just as effective but lack the downside of chemical treatments, such as oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, caprylic acid, proteolytic enzymes, butyric acid, black walnut, and wormwood.

4. Detoxification Support - Regardless of whether natural or conventional treatment options are pursued, it is wise and very helpful to provide the body with some liver support to help promote detoxification pathways which are heavily burdened with mycotoxins generated in the dieoff of yeast cells. This will minimize any Herxheimer effects as the body attempts to cast off these toxins.

5. Heal the Gut - This may seem redundant as all of the above strategies are aimed at restoring the digestive process, but as this happens, certain nutrients may be particularly helpful in repairing the integrity of the intestinal lining, such as L- Glutamine, Omega Three Fats and - once progress has been made - Whey Protein Isolate (a great source of pure amino acids, the building blocks needed for repair). Glutamine is an amino acid that is particularly useful early on in treatment, and may also help with sugar cravings.

Yeasts like Candida have been with us all along, but our collective choices have made yeast infections and other types of fungal overgrowth and secondary infections a growing epidemic around the world.

For those who have struggled with chronic yeast infections and fungal overgrowth for years, know this:

Because of the intransigent and pleomorphic (spontaneously mutating) nature of the microbes involved (not to mention the secondary infections they invite), don't expect a first round knockout, but a multiple round epic struggle. With each round of treatment, the fungal load gets a little lower; with each round, the toxic burden gets a little lighter. With each round, the battle field is a little more level until finally the immune system is no longer outnumbered and outflanked.

With faithful determination and by God's grace, this is a battle worth fighting; it is a battle that can be and is being won.

A Crash Course on the Different Types of Yeast Infections

As long as you keep on living, it is quite likely that you'll experience at least one yeast infection in your life.

But, did you know that both men and women can be susceptible to yeast infections? Did you also know that there are different types of yeast infections? In this article, we'll discuss yeast infections in great detail. We'll talk about the types of yeast infections as well as what causes them. So, sit back and get ready to learn all about yeast or candida infections.

A yeast infection occurs due to an increase in Candida Albicans, a type of yeast that normally occurs within the body. Typically this yeast doesn't affect us at all however when it reaches astronomical proportions due to antibiotic use, fatigue or stress, it can leads to an infection. Once this occurs, our bodies give us a warning that we're out of balance and we experience bodily changes in our mucous membranes which cause excess discharge or irritations in our vagina, mouth, intestines or other body parts.

In most cases, physicians can properly evaluate one's symptoms and determine the type of yeast infection they're dealing with. However, one can often expect a physical exam, blood test and/or wet prep to confirm the yeast infection diagnosis.

The most common types of yeast infections are mouth yeast infection (thrush, hyperplastic, angular cheilitis, and erythematous), skin yeast infections, male, and vaginal yeast infections and systematic.

Here's an evaluation of each type:

Mouth yeast infections - this is caused when the Candida attacks the patient's tissues in their mouth.
Thrush appears as a creamy white or yellow coating on the mouth. Hyperplastic appears as discolored tongue or palate blotches, angular cheilitis appears as red cracks in the corner of the patient's mouth, erythematous appears as pink or red peeling blothes on the palate, hyperplastic appears as dicoloured patches.

Skin yeast infections often appear in moist areas like ones armpits or underneath breasts. This type occurs in both men and women and is typically treated by a topical anti-fungal cream.

Male yeast infections appear on the penis due to excessive growth of Candida in the man's reproductive system, around their crotch (jock itch) or feet (athlete's foot).

Infant yeast infections - this appears in babies whose mother was infected during breastfeeding or birth. Most times this infection occurs as a red patchy diaper rash, thrush, or a mouth yeast infection.

Systematic yeast appears inside the entire body due to a destruction of the body's good bacteria. This type is the most serious and can cause severe health problems. In most instances, this type occurs when one is given long-term antibiotics that encourage the candida growth and offset the body's natural system.

Vaginal yeast occurs in the vagina area and appears as an abnormal cottage cheese looking discharge that causes itching and tenderness.

As you can see, there are many types of yeast infections and if you suspect that you may have one, you must seek care right away. After all, there are many holistic and medical treatment options that are now available.

Are you tired, sluggish, have unexplained skin rashes, memory loss, muscle aches, hypoglycemia, food allergies, or other unusual symptoms? You could be suffering from a yeast or candida infection. Believe It Or Not But Toddler Yeast Infections Are A Truth

You may not know it but there is a toddler yeast infection. Any baby can get a toddler yeast infection which commonly occurs in the moist diaper area. An toddler yeast infection will typically start out like a diaper rash, but it won't go away and it won't heal like a diaper rash. Babies can also get a condition known as thrush which is a yeast infection of the mouth. With this condition the cheeks, gums and tongue will develop white patches. You should take a baby to the doctor to have a toddler yeast infection properly diagnosed especially if you haven't dealt with an infection of this kind before.

Reasons for The Occurrence of Toddler Yeast Infection:

A tot with a toddler yeast infection will be a baby in distress which can be difficult for parents to deal with.

Delivery can spread an toddler yeast infection such as a mother with a yeast infection or during breastfeeding if the mother also has a yeast infection. Although an oral yeast infection can develop in a baby even when there is no yeast infection present.

A toddler yeast infection can be experienced by both sexes. You will often think it is a diaper rash, but it won't go away after the typical one or two day period of diaper rash. Bacteria grow in warm, moist areas on both babies and adults. This is why women have extra concern in their vaginal areas although if a baby isn't attended to then the perfect environment for the bacteria can develop. Also a baby on antibiotics is more susceptible since the medication will kill the healthy bacteria that help to keep down a child yeast infection.

Treatment for Toddler Yeast Infection:

A toddler yeast infection can easily involve both the mouth and the diaper area since it typically spreads through a baby's digestive tract. Take a good look at your babies diaper rash and try to determine if there are a lot of pus-filled bumps or if they are forming a pattern. Often typical treatments for diaper rash won't work and it won't disappear on its own after awhile.

If you are a first time parent you will likely be very concerned and you will probably want to take the baby to the doctor right away to look at the rash. If the same child has a recurrent problem of yeast infections then perhaps your doctor can help with some suggestions on how you can prevent an infant yeast infection. For babies on antibiotics the condition may be around for the course of the medical treatment. Although the best treatment a parent can do is to keep the diaper area as dry as possible and don't fasten diapers too fast, be sure to leave some area for air circulation.

As is the case with all medical issues, the first step is to seek professional help. The reason that your yeast infections
are getting worse with regard to frequency must be determined so that a proper treatment regimen may be followed. This is particularly true for women who are living with a compromised immune system, undiagnosed or untreated diabetes or a parasite
